Should a baby shower be held only for the first baby?

In the past, baby showers were held only for the first baby, and for future babies if their sex was different than the first. Good thing we can learn from the past, because we believe every baby deserves a warm welcoming into the world... even before their arrival!
Baby showers are not only means of prepping the expectant parents with clothes and baby goods, but also to celebrate a new life. Who wants to make excuses when there's a party to be had?
Keep in mind that if the parents-to-be have other children, they may already have baby clothes and supplies. This will alter gift-giving, and as the host, you should remind guests of this.
