A simple-to-make decorated cake idea. Yes, even you can do this!
Decorating the cake:
Bake a 9 x 13-inch cake. Try our sour cream chocolate cake or classic chocolate cake. Freeze cake for at least 2 hours. Make a double batch of our basic white cake frosting. Reserve 1/2 cup of frosting and dye it purple.
Place cake on decorating surface. Proceed with frosting your cake with the white frosting. Using a pastry bag filled with white frosting, pipe a border around the top and bottom of the cake. Place purple frosting in small pastry bag. On bottom border, pipe a thin purple border.
Decorate top of cake with plastic balloons and plastic baby blocks. Consider spelling out baby's name with blocks.
