Can you think of a mixture more appealing than chocolate, caramel and pecans? We didn't think so. Maybe that's why this cake is an all-time party favorite.
Ingredients:
Cake
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Combine cake mix, butter, water, oil and 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk. Pour half of the batter into pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
In heavy saucepan over low heat, combine caramels and remaning sweetened condensed milk. Stir until smooth. Pour mixture over baked cake layer. Sprinkle pecans over this layer. Pour on remaining cake batter. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool cake before frosting.
Frosting
In heavy saucepan, combine butter, cocoa and evaporated milk. Heat and stir until butter is melted and mixture is combined. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and stir until blended. Cool and frost cake. Sprinkle with pecans, if desired.
